Selling travel services in France requires entry on the register of travel operators held by Atout France, a financial guarantee and professional liability insurance. CARTHANET currently sells no travel services: it is not subject to these obligations, is not registered and holds no financial guarantee. All three will be published here before the first sale concluded on roamride.fr.
The site's host, our position on consumer mediation and the procedure for reporting unlawful content are set out in our legal notice.
RoamRide neither designs nor runs any activity. We connect travellers with operators, and the site covers two different situations you need to tell apart before booking.
Each listing says which of the two situations applies before you click. When in doubt, a payment button on RoamRide is the reliable sign: without one, the sale is concluded elsewhere. As of today direct booking is not open — every activity in the catalogue is booked with Viator, and the provisions on direct booking will take effect when that service opens.
You may book with an account or as a guest. Either way you must be of legal age and able to contract, and give a valid email address: the confirmation, the voucher and the invoice all travel through it.
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you tell us and for keeping your credentials confidential. Tell us at once if you suspect unauthorised access; we may revoke your sessions at any time to protect the account.
A guest booking is reached through a personal link sent by email. That link is the proof of access: pass it only to the people concerned.
A booking always follows the same order, and each step has a concrete effect.
The contract is formed when payment is taken, or on the operator's confirmation where one is required.
Displayed prices include all taxes payable by the traveller, excluding any charge the operator collects on site, which is then stated on the listing.
Three rules govern what you pay.
Payments are processed by Stripe. RoamRide neither receives nor stores your card number. Depending on your bank, strong authentication may be required; without it the payment is declined and no booking is formed.
Where the listing allows it, deferred payment may be offered: the booking is taken immediately and payment falls due by the stated deadline, always before departure. Past that deadline without payment, the booking is cancelled and the seats released.
If you dispute a payment with your bank, we suspend the payout to the operator while the case runs. If the dispute succeeds, the booking is treated as refunded and the seats are released.
There is no single cancellation policy on RoamRide: each listing carries its own, shown on the listing and repeated before payment. It states the deadline beyond which the refund is reduced, and the share refunded on either side of it.
Refunds go back to the original payment method. We write to you when the bank confirms the money has moved, not when we ask for it: that delay is your bank's and is outside our control.
The meeting point, the access instructions and the time you are asked to be there are on your voucher and on your booking page. Where a reporting time is given it takes precedence over the departure time: arriving at the departure time can be enough to miss the activity.
If the operator changes the meeting point after you booked, we tell you and reissue your voucher. Check it before you travel. The activity's own requirements — minimum age, fitness, equipment, identity documents — are stated on the listing and are the operator's.
Only a traveller who actually paid for a booking on that activity may leave a review. Reviews are neither bought nor solicited in exchange for anything, and we do not edit their content.
We may remove a review that is abusive, defamatory, off-topic, or that discloses personal data. You remain responsible for what you publish.
The following applies to professionals publishing activities on RoamRide, in addition to the other articles.
By using RoamRide, you undertake to:
Failing these may lead to your access being suspended, the bookings concerned being cancelled and, where warranted, a report to the authorities.
Running the activity is the operator's responsibility and theirs alone: safety, supervision, equipment, insurance, and compliance with the rules that apply to it. RoamRide answers for the introduction, for handling your booking correctly, and for the accuracy of the information we produce ourselves.
We do not answer for information supplied by operators or by our catalogue partners, nor for an activity cancelled by outside causes — weather, strikes, a site closing, force majeure. Nor do we answer for what happens on a third-party site we referred you to.
Nothing here limits your statutory rights, nor our liability for personal injury, gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
The RoamRide name, the site, its design, its text and its code are protected. Reproduction or reuse without written permission is prohibited, including systematic extraction of the catalogue.
Photographs and descriptions published by an operator remain theirs; by uploading them they grant RoamRide the right to display, resize and translate them for the purposes of the service.
We may change these terms. The version that applies to a booking is the one in force on the day it was made: a later change does not apply to it.
Substantial changes are flagged on the site and, if you have an account, announced by email before they take effect.
These terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to any more protective provisions of the consumer's country of habitual residence.
If something goes wrong, write to us first: most situations are settled in a few exchanges. Failing an amicable solution within a reasonable time, the European online dispute resolution platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Our legal notice sets out our position on consumer mediation.
Failing an amicable resolution, the dispute falls to the courts having jurisdiction under the general law.
For any question about these terms or about a booking, write to contact@roamride.fr. We answer within 48 working hours. Quote your booking reference: it saves a round trip.
