This self-guided audio tour of Meissen allows you to explore the town independently. You can walk through the small Saxon town that has remained largely unchanged for 500 years, guided by audio from Jo Eckardt, an expert in literature and history. The tour lasts about an hour, but you can take your time at each stop, starting and finishing whenever you choose. You have unlimited access to the audio before and after your booking date and can also use a virtual tour option from home. After booking, you will receive a ticket with instructions and a unique code. Install the VoiceMap app, enter the code, and follow the directions to the starting point. The app provides automatic GPS playback and works offline. Be aware that this tour involves hilly terrain.
After taking in the magnificent cathedral and castle, you’ll go down the Afrastufen.
Soak up some history just outside the the Stadtmuseum.
