About this experience

This experience involves tasting various wines from Germany's top wine-growing regions over the course of six days. Participants will learn about wine production and storage methods. Attendees will enjoy a concert in a historic monastery known for its beauty. The itinerary includes visits to several cultural-historical estates with a rich history spanning 900 years, as well as a visit to the renowned Cologne Cathedral. This trip is suitable for those interested in wine, music, and historical sites. It may not be ideal for travelers looking for a fast-paced adventure or those with limited mobility due to the nature of some venues and activities.

Itinerary

Arrival in Frankfurt

Arrival in Frankfurt and pick-up from Frankfurt airport or train station, depending on arrival time. Our guide will pick you up. We will leave Frankfurt at 16:00 to the hotel near the Eberbach Monastery. On the way we will visit the beautiful city center of Wiesbaden. Then we will drive along the Rhine River and through the beautiful vineyards, arriving at the hotel at 7:00 p.m. for dinner and overnight.

Eberbach Monastery and wine tasting

The day begins at the picturesque Eberbach Monastery in the Rheingau wine region. After a relaxed start and an exploration of the historic monastery complex, an unforgettable concert awaits you in the evening in the impressive rooms of the monastery.On this day, you will enjoy a wine tour with a tasting of regional wines from the Rheingau, which are renowned for their quality and elegance. Overnight stay at same Hotel.

Eltz Castle

After a leisurely breakfast, the day begins with a one-hour drive to Eltz Castle, one of the most beautiful and best-preserved castles in Germany. During the drive, you will receive information about the Moselle wine-growing region and visit the castle. After the castle tour, continue to Mayschoß (Ahr) for approx. one hour and overnight stay. Wine information during/after dinner.

Wine hike and wine tasting

Today we are going on a fantastic 4-hour wine hike to the Saffenburg through the beautiful vineyards in the region and we are going to do a wine tasting at the summit. On the way back we are going to take a tour of the cellar of the Mayschoß wine cooperative. Dinner and overnight stay in Mayschoß.

Cologne - cathedral and culture

After breakfast, the journey continues with a one-hour drive to Cologne and a visit to the impressive Cologne Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and masterpiece of Gothic architecture. After a stroll through the old town and the historic center, there is still time to visit the Cologne Wine Museum. Then an hour's drive to Kamp-Lintfort, dinner and overnight stay at Kamp Abbey.

Kamp Monastery and journey home

The tour ends with a visit to the beautiful Kamp Abbey. The extensive monastery complex with its baroque gardens invites you to take a leisurely stroll. This is followed by lunch and a wine tasting of Lower Rhine wines. After visiting the abbey, the tour ends - packed with wine, culture and history - and we return to Frankfurt. The tour ends after 3 hours of driving around 18:00.
