
This experience involves a visit to the active volcano, Vesuvio, which offers stunning views of the Gulf of Naples and its islands. The excursion includes a 20-25 minute uphill walk to the crater, which reaches 1,281 meters. Entrance to the crater comes with a 2-hour internal guide. Herculaneum, buried under meters of ash and pumice during the catastrophic eruption of 79 AD, is also part of the tour.
