Travel from Lyon to the medieval village of Pérouges, where you will explore cobblestone streets, ancient ramparts, the Place du Tilleul, and the weavers’ houses. Taste the renowned Pérouges galette and local cider. You have the option of a gourmet lunch at a traditional inn, featuring trout, mountain cheese, and local wine, or a casual sandwich. After lunch, you will drive along the Bugey Wine Route, with stops for panoramic views of vineyards. Learn about Bugey wine's history, which dates back to the 15th century. Continue through villages such as Lagnieu, Villebois, and Saint-Sorlin-en-Bugey, with opportunities for photos. At a Bugey winery, enjoy a tasting of sparkling whites and rosés, and visit the wine museum at Caveau Bugiste. On the return to Lyon, a coffee break will provide views of the Ain plain.
