Participants will visit two wineries in the Madrid Wines Denomination of Origin, engaging with winemakers and learning about the wine production process. The experience includes tasting at least seven types of wine, such as reds, whites, rosés, and sparkling varieties, while gaining insights into winemaking techniques that blend tradition with innovation. This tour is suitable for wine enthusiasts and those looking to explore the Castilian countryside, located just 40 minutes from central Madrid. The region features olive groves, vineyards, and historical towns like Chinchón and Colmenar de Oreja. The wines are crafted from grape varieties including Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Syrah, and Malvar, showcasing easy-to-drink qualities and complexity developed through aging in oak barrels. Participants will experience areas away from mass tourism, offering an authentic wine tasting and scenic experience. The tour concludes with a stop at the Plaza Mayor of Chinchón.

Itinerary

Colmenar de Oreja

After 45 minutes of driving through the Madrid countryside we will arrive at the first winery, century-old and family-owned. Artisanal elaborations in clay jars within the Madrid wines Denomination of Origin. Red, white, rosé and sparkling wines. Underground winery from the 16th century still in use for aging quality wines.

Morata de Tajuna

Family winery located in the renowned town of Morata. Quality wines under the protection of the DO Vinos de Madrid that reach the most demanding markets in Europe and the US. We will visit the production and aging facilities to later taste 3 of their best wines.

Chinchon

Just 40 minutes from the center of Madrid, we will tour the Castilian countryside dotted with olive groves and vineyards interspersed with cereal fields and medieval towns such as Chinchón or Colmenar de Oreja that treasure a great historical heritage. The DO Vinos de Madrid has been producing great wines with national and international projection for more than 30 years. Of this time we will take 45 minutes to return to Madrid.
