About this experience

Experience a day focused on four renowned Italian food products in Modena. Participants will taste Parmigiano Reggiano, observing its production from cow to curd and aging storage. There will be a guided visit to a traditional cured-meat producer, culminating in a tasting of fresh products. The tour also covers Balsamic Vinegar, known as 'Black Gold', with insights into its 12-year aging process and tastings of various aged options. Additionally, guests will tour the Museum of Wine Traditions, explore aging cellars, and enjoy a guided wine tasting. This tour requires a minimum of 2 participants and can accommodate groups of 2 to 3/4 in a car or 4 to 7 in a minivan.

Caseificio Bio Reggiani

Guided Parmesan Cheese factory tour with tasting. Guided tour into a local and typical farmto see all the production of the famous Parmigiano Reggiano: the first step is to see where the milk is cooked and how it becomes a wheel of cheese. During the first tour of the day at 09 am, you have the opportunity to see how the cheese workers create the wheels from the copper boilers. After the salinization room, step into the aging storage with thousand of wheels. Vist at the stable with the cows included. The experience finishes with an amazing tasting with 3 ages of Parmigiano Reggiano, fresh ricotta with balsamic and other snacks... Lambrusco wine included!

Guided visit to a Balsamic Vinegar producer with tasting and lunch included. Discover the fascinating history behind one of Italy’s most prized culinary treasures: the "Black Gold" of Modena. You'll walk through the rooftop of the house with historic wooden barrels to learn every step of the artisanal production process—from the grape harvest to decades-long aging. Conclude your tour with an immersive guided tasting of aged balsamic vinegars (12 and 25 y.o.), discovering the unique nuances, textures, and aromas that distinguish authentic DOP balsamic from everyday varieties. Guided tour of the Wine Museum and Local Traditions to learn how the grape was harvested and pressed for making the juice, and how wine was bottled before the industial era!
